Takedown's Story

Takedown Nation was founded on the principle that grappling is an art form and we are here to make it accessible to everyone. We provide a space for people of all ages, genders, sizes and abilities to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Judo or any other martial art in a safe and positive environment. Takedown Nation's head coach Eric Bydairk started his grappling journey as a high school wrestler with 4 years of wrestling experience at Lock Haven University. From there he joined the Navy and was introduced to BJJ while stationed in Pearl Harbor. It was during his training in Jiu Jitsu that he started the Takedown Nation YouTube page (2016), creating educational content to help teach and incorperate wrestling into ones arsenal. Driven by the passion to teach Erik took that YouTube page and turned it into a Gym located in King George, VA. He currently holds a black belt in BJJ from Chris Haueter, and is a regular at BJJ Globetrotter events.

No Contracts: We don't believe in locking members down with contracts, we want to win your loyalty and membership by offering the highest quality instruction, and best atmosphere for you and yours to train.
Low Monthly Fees: Don't take our word for it, check with other schools in your area. Compare our prices to theirs. We are very competitive, and still offer the highest quality instruction possible.
Combo Memberships: Check our membership for rates, but when you combine memberships we provide discount rates for each person tied to your membership (up to four).
Easy Online Payments: We offer subscription, drop-in, and combo rates. Pay in person, or through our site online. Our online is a month to month subscription. No Contract, cancel anytime.
Adult and Kid Classes: We offer combo memberships, and classes for everyone in your family. Our instruction for children is just as high quality as our adult instruction. Take advantage of this and sign up the whole family.
High Level Jiu Jitsu: Our head coach is a BJJ black belt. The highest rank in BJJ, he has world class instruction from many of the highest level players both across the country, but also the world. This is including his association with BJJ Globetrotters.
Integrated Wrestling: Many schools focus solely on BJJ, our instructors use their personal experience in Wrestling to give you a well rounded instruction set that teaches you to become dominate in takedowns, transitions, and positions.
